Tattoo Swallows and Chains Brooches- Ivory

Loyalty, fidelity and hope. Swallow tattoos have plenty of interpretations:
Sailors often had them because when they saw a swallow on the horizon it would mean they were near land. Others say that the swallows would lift their souls from the sea if they were to drown. Some landlubbers would say that a swallow tattoo is a sign of having "done bird" or completed a stint in prison.

Two wooden swallows soar on this set of two brooches. Inspired by old fashioned cardigan chains from the 1950s, a loop of vintage pearls and chain dangle between the birds. This one's chain is made from ivory coloured vintage pearls- see the other two if you are a pink pearl kind of girl........
